Scott Douglas was recently interviewed about emergency kits by the Gouda newspaper "het Kontakt. Douglas's message? Your neighbors are your best allies during a crisis. "The government talks mostly about 'self-reliance' now. But we need to move toward togetherness," Douglas said in Het Kontakt.
Things you can do right now to get to know your neighbors better? "Start a neighborhood app, have a chat at the front door, participate in Neighborhood Day." He also points out the power of family stories: "It's always a good idea to ask your grandparents what it was like for them back in the day. You see that children who know well the ups and downs of family history come out of a crisis stronger."
