Bestaat uit leiders in de publieke, maatschappelijke en private sector en vertegenwoordigers van burgerinitiatieven op het gebied van crisisrespons en maatschappelijke adaptatie. De raad fungeert als maatschappelijk klankbord en biedt een ‘reality check’ op de publieke waarde van de activiteiten van Adapt! De raad adviseert over manieren om activiteiten en kennisdeling te smeden en te versterken, en zorgt voor co-creatie van partnerschappen met bedrijfs-, overheids- en burgerorganisaties. De Institutions and Society Board komt jaarlijks bijeen en wordt voorgezeten door Lotte Jensen.
Principal investigators (PIs)

Beatrice de Graaf is a distinguished professor at Utrecht University and a worldwide authority on two research tracks: the contemporary study of conflict and terrorism, and the history of security. She is the principal applicant and scientific director of the Adapt! programme.

Arjen Boin is professor of Public Institutions and Governance at Leiden University. He is the academic advisor to Adapt!

Kees van den Bos is hoogleraar Bestuurs- en Organisatiewetenschap aan de Universiteit Utrecht. Hij is voorzitter van de Adapt! Raad.

Ellen Giebels is professor of Conflict and Security at the University of Twente. She is director of data quality, methods and ethics at Adapt!

Lotte Jensen is professor of Dutch cultural and literary history at the Faculty of Humanities at Radboud University Nijmegen. She is the chair of the Insitutions and Society Board of Adapt!

Rik Peels is Professor of Philosophy and Theology of Radicalization at the Faculty of Religion and Theology of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is the chairman of the International Scientific Advisory Board of Adapt!

Adriaan is postdoc in werkpakket 1. Hij is historicus en onderzoekt de verhalen die mensen vertelden en vertellen over natuurrampen, van de negentiende eeuw tot onze eigen, ingebeelde toekomsten.

Amarins is postdoc en werkzaam in werkpakket 2. Zij is sociaal psycholoog en onderzoekt maatschappelijke onvrede en de wisselwerking tussen burgers en instituties in tijden van crisis, van protest en conflict tot herstel van vertrouwen en rechtvaardigheid.

Supporting staff

Karlijne is business director of Adapt! and working at Utrecht University. In the project she is responsible for all operational matters (legal, finance, logistics, communication and administration). She also leads the project office team.

Sophie is a Project Leader at Utrecht University in the Department of History and Art History. Here she is engaged in project management of the Security History Network, the Security in Open Societies Hub and Adapt! among others. She is within Adapt! engaged in project management, deals with practical support for the team, organizing activities and meetings, and managing other support staff.

The International Scientific Advisory Board

De raad adviseert over de algemene programmastrategie, synergieën tussen onderdelen, de voortgang van WP-activiteiten en zaken met betrekking tot wetenschappelijke en maatschappelijke impact.
