Beatrice de Graaf delivered the 53rd Johan Huizinga Lecture in Leiden on December 12, 2024. The title of the lecture was "We are the times. History in times of crisis.' Scientific research helps us better understand what can be important for creating successful crisis response. But we also want to use the knowledge and experiences that people have gained through crises. In the preparation for crises and in dealing with crises, citizens, teachers, policeman and local administrators play an important role. That is why we established Adapt! Academy. Adapt! Academy will do research in numerous municipalities in collaboration with local partners.
