(This position has already expired.) In this PhD position, you will investigate the success and failure factors in fulfilling four tasks in a detailed comparison of government responses to the same type of crisis (e.g., the Covid-19 pandemic in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Sweden).

Scientific research helps us better understand what can be important for creating successful crisis response. But we also want to use the knowledge and experiences that people have gained through crises. In the preparation for crises and in dealing with crises, citizens, teachers, policeman and local administrators play an important role. That is why we established Adapt! Academy. Adapt! Academy will do research in numerous municipalities in collaboration with local partners.
