(This position has already expired.) In this PhD position, you will study how crisis leaders can develop and apply an ethical approach to decision-making in times of crisis. You will use a case study approach, examining decision-making processes in a small set of well-documented crises (e.g., the Cuba Missile Crisis).

Scientific research helps us better understand what can be important for creating successful crisis response. But we also want to use the knowledge and experiences that people have gained through crises. In the preparation for crises and in dealing with crises, citizens, teachers, policeman and local administrators play an important role. That is why we established Adapt! Academy. Adapt! Academy will do research in numerous municipalities in collaboration with local partners.
